About the role

Troubleshoot and repair assemblies, subassemblies, products, and/or systems.

Responsibilities

  • Read and comprehend schematics and assembly diagrams and apply the knowledge in component-level troubleshooting and repair of product.
  • Perform operations such as screwing, soldering, cementing, or press-fitting to join or secure parts in place.
  • Mount assembled components (transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, sockets) on printed circuit boards.
  • Collect and report unit failures and trends to management.
  • Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases with understanding of test procedures.
  • Train lower-level technicians and assemblers in workmanship, ESD, safety, and accepted AMS processes, including conducting training meetings.
  • Document processes in accordance with ISO 9000.
  • Collaborate with management and engineering when adopting new changes on the manufacturing floor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree and BSEET or equivalent military or industry experience.
  • Competent solder experience desired.
  • Thorough understanding of AMS manufacturing process.
  • 4+ years’ experience with test equipment including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power meters, signal generators, etc.
  • Competent through-hole and surface-mount soldering ability.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in relevant high-technology manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a technical lead role in a high-technology environment.
  • Proven proficiency in manufacturing standards that include ISO 9000 and IPC-610A, and understanding of AMS products and process.

Skills

  • Solid communication skills and ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels, as well as with foreign suppliers.
  • Practical skills in electronics manufacturing, schematic reading, troubleshooting, and use of common tools.

Physical Requirements

  • Repetitive motions: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Average visual abilities: Ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.
  • Physical strength: Physically active position involving climbing ladders, lifting boxes (up to 30 lbs), pushing carts, stooping, and bending.

Pay

Hiring salary range: $27.21 to $30.30 per hour. Compensation to be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
