Electromechanical Product Design Engineer

About the role
We are looking for engineers with a creative mindset and strong mechanical engineering fundamentals to join our team. This role involves designing mechanical components and mechanisms related to electrical connections, conducting, assembly aids, and vehicle integration parts. You will work on developing novel technologies and manufacturing techniques, perform thermal and structural modeling, build prototypes, and validate designs through testing and production ramps.
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical components and mechanisms related to electrical connections, conductors, assembly aids, and vehicle integration parts
- Develop novel technologies and manufacturing techniques related to the same
- Perform thermal and structural modeling of components and systems
- Build prototypes and perform functional validation in both laboratory and prototype vehicles
- Work with cross-functional mechanical engineering and integration teams to develop functional systems
- Collaborate with electrical engineers and PCB designers to integrate components into electro-mechanical systems
- Work with test and reliability engineers to validate new designs in accelerated testing
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and suppliers to transition concepts to production
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated successful experience in mechanical engineering, including part design and manufacturing
- Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing processes such as injection molding, die casting, stamping, extrusion, etc.
- Detail-oriented personality with solid documentation and reporting skills
- Proficiency in CAD modeling, CATIA experience highly valued but not required
- 10-15% travel is expected

Pay
Expected compensation ranges from $91,600 to $234,000 annually, with details of the total compensation package including other elements like benefits and stock awards provided upon hire. The pay offered may vary based on individualized factors such as market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
