Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside a team of engineers and drafters creating customized mobile mission systems for a variety of clients in the defense and aerospace industry.
- Carry ownership of system architecture and circuit designs of varying complexity for integration into future mission systems.
- Using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, create electrical diagrams, models, and rack elevations that represent current system architectures.
- Manage power distribution requirements within mission systems and surrounding equipment.
- Identify, verify, and track requirements generated internally or by customers, ensuring compliance with final engineering deliverables.
- Participate in activities across a broad engineering domain, collaborating with other engineers and industry professionals on mechanical packaging, electrical routing, and hardware validation.
- Adapt to contract specific Military Standards in support of program objectives on a project-by-project basis.
- Maintain engineering documentation packages in alignment with internal AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
- Work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment, solving problems and producing deliverables driven by customer needs.
- Interpret and digest customer requirements in support of future contracts, communicating intended fit, form, and function with relevant stakeholders alongside business development and program management colleagues.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Science in Systems, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of professional engineering experience, ideally within defense, aerospace, or a high-reliability industrial sector.
- Demonstrated professional experience with the Autodesk suite or similar CAD modeling software packages.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and electrical schematics.
- US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Ability and willingness to travel between 5% and 10% for customer visits, integration support, or on-site technical reviews.
- Familiarity with MS Office suite.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active DOD Secret Security Clearance.
- Experience with TEMPEST concepts as they apply to electrical equipment and device power.
