About the role

The Electro-Optical Engineer, Staff position within Lockheed Martin Space's Optical Talent Center (OTC) focuses on Electrical Compatibility Analysis, Requirement Verification, Flex Cable design, and acting as a box test lead for SMD NGI. Key responsibilities include being heavily involved in end-to-end system integration, examining schematics, reviewing interconnect descriptions, overseeing space qualification testing, supporting program lifecycle for optical payload component builds, and working closely with a team to ensure all components meet the necessary requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Be heavily involved in end to end integration of a system
  • Examine schematics
  • Review the interconnect description documentation
  • Oversee space qual testing and special test equipment
  • Support program lifecycle for optical payload component builds

Requirements

  • Experience with box qual testing
  • Experience with Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) Worst Case Analysis, including stress and stability analysis
  • Demonstrated proficiency in schematic design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Xpedition, Cadence and/or CAD, Zuken and/or PSpice)
  • Familiarity with Block Diagrams: Develop and review system-level block diagrams, interface diagrams, and interconnect documentation

Qualifications

  • Active Final Top Secret Clearance required
  • US Citizenship required

Skills

  • Experience in a lab setting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Hands-on experience using electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.)
  • Experience with troubleshooting test racks
  • Experience in wire harness/cable design
  • Excitement about space missions
