Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
  • Document all repairs and adjustments via the maintenance work order system
  • Inspect drives, motors, and belts; check fluid levels; replace filters; or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists
  • Maintain critical parts inventory
  • Utilize tools ranging from common hand and power tools (e.g., hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches) to precision measuring instruments and electrical/electronic testing devices
  • Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary
  • Plan and lay out repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams
  • Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
  • Align and balance new equipment after installation
  • Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
  • Set up and operate machine tools to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools
  • Paint and repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, and other parts of building structures

Requirements

  • Minimum five years as a well-rounded technician capable of troubleshooting and repairing both mechanical and electrical industrial equipment
  • At least three years of experience with complex troubleshooting of production equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and measurement tools
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems required
  • Must use appropriate safety gear to perform specific functions of the job
  • Excellent communication and time management skills

Pay

The pay range for this position is $24.18 – $41.20 annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between $32.00 and $35.00. Offers may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The starting rate is not representative of future compensation increases. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
