Acts as Senior Automation Technician on shift for Pallet and Packaging conveyors, SRM Cranes, Dematic Multi-Shuttle, AGV, AMR, and other ancillary equipment at our Fishkill location.
Schedule
- Night shift: 6:00 pm to 4:30 am
- Four 10-hour days per week (Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday)
- Overtime may be required
Pay
Base pay range: $38–$40 per hour
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including belt tracking, component adjustment/replacement, and component lubrication
- Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures
- Use electrical test equipment to troubleshoot electrical circuitry
- Build and close work orders in the asset management system with detailed data (labor hours, equipment maintenance, parts used)
- Troubleshoot semi-complex problems and determine resources needed to resolve them
- Locate and supervise spare parts from inventory
- Perform routine maintenance and equipment testing to ensure specifications are met
- Respond to service calls and address equipment failures and faults
- Identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to resolve them
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization
- Perform installation/adjustments on PLCs, sensors, etc. using controls software from various vendors
- Aid and mentor lower-level employees
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent experience required; associate’s degree or vocational technical training is advantageous
- Niche skill training/certification preferred
- 2–3 years of experience in troubleshooting electro-mechanical equipment
- Proven experience in the area of responsibility and successful demonstration of key responsibilities
- Ability to lift and move material up to 50 pounds
- Working experience with troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) is required
- Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head
- Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation
- Ability to work in diverse conditions: small spaces, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, standing long hours on concrete, wet or uneven surfaces
- Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10–12 hours
- Competent in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Google G-Suite
- Flexibility in covering multiple shifts and holiday hours as required
