About the role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team in a woodworking manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electro-mechanical equipment and machinery to ensure smooth production operations, improve machine performance, minimize downtime, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular maintenance and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and automated systems, including CNC machinery, saws, routers, and conveyor systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Inspect and maintain electrical wiring, motors, controls, switches, and circuit boards to ensure functionality and compliance with safety standards.
  • Repair or replace malfunctioning equipment parts, components, and devices to minimize downtime.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting machine parts.
  • Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment or modifications to existing systems.
  • Collaborate with production staff to ensure minimal disruption to daily operations.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
  • Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reliability.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Participate in team meetings and training programs to stay updated on the latest technology and maintenance practices.
  • Support and contribute to the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Technical Certification or Associate's Degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electro-mechanical maintenance, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Experience in woodworking machinery maintenance is a plus.
  • Proficient in the operation and repair of CNC machines, saws, routers, conveyors, and other production machinery.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, electrical wiring diagrams, and control systems.
  • Familiarity with pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a team.
  • Electrical or mechanical certification is a plus (e.g., OSHA, HVAC, PLC troubleshooting).

Skills

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in awkward positions for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy manufacturing environment.
  • Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying temperatures and conditions.
  • Work in production areas with exposure to noise, dust, vibration, and ergonomic stressors while wearing required personal protective equipment.
  • Perform job duties requiring prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching, grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive motion in a manufacturing environment.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to approximately 50 pounds regularly, and greater weights with assistance as needed.

Schedule

  • Full-time position with regular working hours.
  • Occasional overtime may be required to meet production schedules or urgent maintenance needs.
  • Must be available for on-call emergency maintenance outside of regular working hours.

Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn at all times.
