Eaton’s Electrical Sector (Crouse Hinds, B-Line and Oil & Gas business) is seeking a 2nd Shift Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician based at our Amarillo, TX facility.

About the role

This position is responsible for installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility equipment, plant systems, and associated machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Install equipment and machinery
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on plant equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Complete and maintain maintenance logs and associated documentation
  • Maintain and secure tools and repair equipment
  • Maintain and clean work areas
  • Communicate equipment and plant status as required
  • Maintain and follow all safety requirements and ensure compliance by maintenance personnel
  • Operate a variety of lifts and related equipment
  • Work with Operations team members and leaders to ensure equipment uptime and effective repairs
  • Share learnings and train or cross-train coworkers to ensure knowledge is shared across the maintenance team
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • 5 years of industrial maintenance experience
  • No relocation benefit is offered; only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Amarillo, TX will be considered (Active Duty Military Service member candidates exempt from geographical limitation)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in metals fabrication
  • Ability to utilize hydraulic schematics, pneumatic schematics, and electrical schematics
  • Familiarity with wastewater treatment
  • Ability to modify or program PLCs and HMIs (a plus)

Skills

  • Work in various locations, including confined spaces and at varied heights using fall protection, permits, and other safety processes (e.g., lockout/tagout)
  • Able to stand continuously during shift and lift 50 lbs without assistance (40 lbs routinely)
  • Requires PPE: safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, leather gloves, and hearing protection in high-noise areas
  • Environmental exposure includes sharp objects, pinch points, and oil
  • Familiarity with basic mechanical principles and shop maintenance tools
  • Advanced skills in one or more: Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, PLC troubleshooting and repair
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and parts breakdowns
  • Basic skills in reading, arithmetic, and writing in English
  • Dexterity for operating equipment, machinery, and computers (Windows, MS Office, industrial software)
  • Working knowledge of equipment operations, tooling, machining operations, and product
  • Familiarity with safety standards such as electrical safety, arc flash, and lockout/tagout
  • Familiarity with DC and AC power up to three-phase 480-volt AC
  • Able to read ladder logic and utilize PLC for troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and controls issues
  • Capable of welding, pipe fitting, and rigging
  • Ability to work around molten metal and in production environments with extreme temperatures
  • Ability to flex personal schedule for unexpected overtime and cover tasks on other shifts
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with all employees throughout the plant
  • Ability to work in a heavy industrial environment with large manufacturing equipment
  • Perform basic computer functions: use SAP, eSafety, MESH Prism

Pay

Hourly wage progression:

  • Step 1: $28.88 per hour (starting rate)
  • Step 2: $32.49 per hour (after 45 days)
  • Step 3: $36.10 per hour (after 90 days)
