Electro-Mechanical Assembler-First Shift
About the Role
This position performs hands-on mechanical, electrical, and/or electro-mechanical sub-assemblies and complete assembly operations of Perfusion modules using standard manufacturing documentation and equipment. The role contributes to meeting production targets while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform various assembly operations under general supervision, following manufacturing documentation and using standard equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain production line pace and achieve output targets.
- Maintain stock in kanban locations and escalate material shortages before they occur.
- Recommend activities to promote continuous improvement and best practices.
- Assist in basic troubleshooting of assembly processes and equipment with guidance from senior assemblers, supervisors, and engineers.
- Follow instructions from engineers and assist in implementing prototypes or process changes.
- Support Lean, Health, and Safety initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team leads, and quality control personnel to address issues.
- Ensure all work assignments meet corporate quality and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area, including proper disposal of waste, storage of equipment, and management of documentation.
- Serve as a team player, supporting and assisting colleagues as needed.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, including production reports, inventory levels, and quality control documentation.
- Initiate Non-Conforming Material (NCMR) reports when applicable.
- Comply with safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform other tasks and duties as required by TransMedics.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent technical degree with 1-2 years of experience in an electro-mechanical assembly environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges.
- Ability to assemble parts, properly position, align, and fasten to assemblies and sub-assemblies using hand tools and/or power tools.
- Ability to connect cables, tubes, and wires according to basic written instructions.
- Strong work ethic, effective oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of assembly processes and techniques.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Physical Attributes
- Ability to walk, bend, reach, and twist regularly during shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or finished goods (typically 10-50 lbs).
- Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions.
- Ability to move packaged goods to pallets or conveyors as required.

Pay
The expected base hourly range for this role is $20.96–$29.90. Actual salary will depend on factors such as candidate experience, qualifications, skills, and work location. This role may also be eligible for bonuses, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
