Electricians for DDC HVAC Controls Installation

About the Role

We are a full-service mechanical contractor providing customers in the commercial, residential, and industrial sectors with innovative, energy-efficient heating and air conditioning services, automation and controls, industrial piping, new construction design and installation, and maintenance and replacement services.

Responsibilities

• Accurately lay out and install conduit and control wiring per NEC, control drawings, and company standards.
• Direct and work with helpers as required.
• Assure quality of installation with maximum efficiency.
• Install control components and factory-provided HVAC unit accessories.
• Label control components per company standards.
• Constant communication with installation supervisor about job status and needs.
• Communicate with team members including creation of daily log.
• Complete work order and change order forms when necessary.
• Assist in purchasing of necessary installation materials.
• Creation of as-built drawings.
• Attend job meetings when required.
• Coordinate with other trades.
• Maintain company vehicle and company-supplied tools.
• Maintain the expected safety level.

Qualifications

• Understanding of local codes.
• Thorough understanding of installation tools, techniques, and devices.
• Ability to install electrical conduit.
• Ability to install copper piping to support instrumentation.
• Thorough understanding of control submittal packages.
• Thorough understanding of plans, specifications, and submittals.
• Thorough understanding of product submittals and wiring diagrams.
• Command of the technical language involved with automation and mechanical systems.
• Good organizational and planning skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good problem-solving skills (striving for win-win).
• Understands and executes “completion”.
• Fosters relationships with customers and team members.
• Proficient reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring schematics, and control drawings.

Physical Demands

• Reasonably physically fit and capable of picking up a 50 lb. tool, piece of equipment, or piece of material and moving it about either on a jobsite, at a vendor, or our warehouse.
• Ability to stand, bend, and kneel when needed.
• Comfortable climbing ladders and working from scissor lifts at heights.
• Load and unload materials for projects and move these materials into place at the job site, which may involve carrying a load in tight and difficult situations and on uneven terrain.
• Familiar with the safe operation and capable of using hammer-type drills and similar tools.

Environmental conditions may range from outdoors at all times of the year to indoors at normal office conditions to indoor utility plants.
