Electrician Technician Manufacturing – Federal Ammunition

About the Role

The Kinetic Group is a world leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of small caliber ammunition under iconic brands such as B&P, CCI, Federal Premium, Fiocchi, HEVI, Remington, and Speer. This position supports electrical/electronic systems to improve machine operations, product quality, and overall plant performance at our Anoka location.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment.
  • Repair or rebuild motors, control systems, or other equipment as necessary.
  • Maintain shop equipment and working areas in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Function as an electrical/electronic resource and improve the knowledge of others as appropriate.
  • Participate in and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Observe all applicable safety rules and report unsafe conditions or potential safety hazards to supervisors.

Requirements

  • Registered unlicensed electrician or ability to achieve within 30 days.
  • Knowledgeable in PLC and schematic reading.
  • Experience in industrial or manufacturing electrical environments.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision; self-starter.
  • Resume documenting how minimum and additional qualifications are met.
  • Willingness to work with others and openness to new ideas or techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-year degree/diploma in controls, electrical, electronics, electro-mechanical program, or related field.
  • Personal computer and mainframe interaction skills.
  • Journeyman or Master Electrical License.
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley Products (Servo, PLC, VFD, HMI).
  • Knowledge of 3-phase systems.
  • Knowledge of NEC and UL508A.
  • Demonstrated 2+ years’ experience in the design, implementation, and repair of electrical control systems, PLCs, and electronics.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent lifting up to 10 pounds with occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling of weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling required.
  • Must have normal depth perception capability due to operation of maintenance cart.

Mental Requirements

  • Majority of time spent identifying problems by listening and communicating with other associates.
  • Reading and attention to detail required.
  • Must be flexible and able to cope with stress from multiple job assignments, deadlines, and constant interruptions.

Working Environment

  • Exposure to fumes, dirt, dust, mist, and gases when in the plant.
  • Regular production floor work with exposure to mechanical/electrical equipment hazards.
  • Approximately 90% of time spent working with or around others.
  • Work assignments may include tasks with exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives.

Schedule

7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and every other Thursday, plus overtime as needed. Training may take place on another shift.

Pay

Pay range: $35.25 - $49.30 per hour. The actual annual salary offered will be based on experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements.
