Primary Duties And Accountabilities
- Attends continuing training to maintain proficiency and qualifications in accordance with ANSI and INPO Standards
- Communicates with technicians and multi-discipline crafts to perform maintenance and troubleshooting
- Develops written performance and troubleshooting plans to analyze malfunctions to electrical and control equipment to determine and repair root causes or failures
- Participates in the Emergency Response Plan
- Performs tasks inside Radiologically Controlled areas
- Prepares and recommends improvements to schematics, equipment, test devices and systems to improve performance and reliability
- Tests, modifies, repairs, and maintains protective relaying, meters, control devices, plant instrumentation, electronic equipment and MOVs
- Uses advanced diagnostic equipment to trend, test, adjust, and repair relays, meters, electronic equipment, Reactor Control Rod drive systems and MOVs
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- An associates degree in a technical field
- Two years military electrical experience
- Two years experience as a journeyman Electrician in an industrial setting
- Satisfactory completion of Technician Occupations Selection System Test
- Ability to work in a power plant environment that includes climbing, heights and walking long distances
- Ability to work flexible, sometimes extended hours, including nights and weekends
- Nuclear unescorted access
- Ability to read electrical schematics, prints, and technical procedures
- Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance programs
- Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or formal maintenance training program
- Good communication and teamwork skills in a highly regulated environment
- Strong electrical safety and grounding knowledge
- Understanding of lockout/tagout (LOTO), arc-flash protection, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Experience in commercial power generation, utilities, or industrial electrical maintenance
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting: Medium- and high-voltage electrical systems (480V, 4kV, 13.8kV) Switchgear, breakers, transformers, generators, and motor control centers Protective relays and power-distribution equipment Electrical test equipment and diagnostic instruments Motor-Operated Valves
