About the role
PCSI is seeking an Electrician for our Ft. Knox, Kentucky contract. The Electricians will perform electrical installation, maintenance, and repair of facility electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Installs, inspects, adjusts, tests, maintains and repairs electrical wiring systems, related switches, distribution panels and outlet boxes and a wide variety of electrical fixtures.
- Electrical equipment that will require maintenance and repair include electrical switch boxes, lighting circuits, branch and transfer circuits, HVAC fans and switches, and related shop equipment.
- Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs conduit, inserts, splices and connects wire to fixtures, outlets, switches, receptacles and power sources.
- Coordinates maintenance and repair activities in support of facility goals.
- Aids area personnel and completes special assignments as needed.
- Responsible for all work orders scheduled and assigned by the Electrical Supervisor and PMO Supervisor.
- Responsible for emergency after-hour calls determined by the Electrical Supervisor.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED equivalent required.
- Must have working knowledge of all national and local electrical codes.
- Journeyman license strongly preferred.
- Experience in installation, troubleshooting, testing, repair and maintenance of all electrical systems and devices including low and high voltage systems located on Fort Knox.
- Ability to effectively read, write, and speak the English language.
Qualifications
- Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screenings.
- Ability to work outside in inclement weather as needed and be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors.
- Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
- Possess valid Kentucky State driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
- If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
Skills
- Knowledge of all national and local electrical codes.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems and devices including low and high voltage systems.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
