Position Overview
Alutiiq Logistics & Maintenance Services, LLC (ALMS) is seeking an Electrician Maintenance at Naval Air Station Pensacola, FL. The primary duties and responsibilities include maintaining and repairing facility electrical systems, installing, maintaining, or repairing electrical equipment, and performing periodic maintenance inspections.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Determines installations and repairs including types, sizes, gauges, lay out of conduit, wiring, couples, fittings, relays, controls, distribution panels, and other electrical devices used in a variety of complete electrical systems.
- Installs, maintains, or repairs equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.
- Assists with material and labor estimates.
- Works on other duties as assigned.
- Performs periodic maintenance inspections of all equipment associated with electrical systems and reports all system discrepancies or conditions to your Supervisor.
- Complies with all OSHA safety regulations and adheres to proper codes and standards with a thorough understanding of safety procedures related to Electrical Systems and Lock out/Tag out Procedures.
- Utilizes Safety Data Sheets to identify chemical characteristics.
- Completes Work Orders daily and accurately.
- Initiates material requisitions to order parts/materials needed for repairs.
- Troubleshoots electronic circuitry at times without prior knowledge of the system or manuals related to such systems.
- Utilizes AC and DC theories to troubleshoot and repair power supply and integrated charging systems.
- Performs other repairs such as replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, conduit, and fixtures.
- Selects proper tools/testing devices/equipment and accomplishes repairs according to accepted trade practices.
- Uses electrical skills, multi-meters and meggers to measure voltage and ohms readings to troubleshoot circuit boards and other electrical circuitry.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Five years’ experience required as a commercial Electrician (residential work does not count).
- Training through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training program required.
- Must understand the codes and regulations related to the National Electric Code (NEC).
- An understanding of electronic components to include transistors, diodes, solid state and integrated circuitry.
- State of Florida Class "E" driver's license or equivalent required.
- Must be CPR qualified or become CPR qualified within 45 days of hire date (company provided).
Pay Rate
$41.53 per hour
