About the role
Serves as a working leader responsible for passing on supervisor instructions, getting work started, and ensuring team members are actively engaged in assigned tasks.
Plans the daily use of personnel, equipment, facilities, materials, and tools on a day-to-day or project-by-project basis to ensure efficient operations.
Recommends adjustments to schedules, priorities, and work sequences; makes minor procedural deviations or redirects resources to overcome issues such as equipment failure, material delays, or unplanned absences.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates proper work methods by performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks within the electrical trade to guide and train team members.
- Performs inspections on repair work completed by electricians on existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment; provides critical technical feedback to correct deficiencies.
- Diagnoses and resolves complex issues within electrical distribution networks, circuits, equipment, and systems using specialized testing instruments.
- Traces hard-to-locate defects and performs advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and installations with minimal oversight; acts as a subject matter expert to advise other electricians on atypical or complex work orders.
- Adheres strictly to work priorities, project schedules, resource allocations, and detailed work plans established by the supervisor.
- Utilizes the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track, update, and manage work orders for self and team members, proactively advising the supervisor of any operational roadblocks.

The appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination, where reciprocity cannot be applied; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal.

Emphasis is placed on how you gained the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time, and the required ability or potential to perform the job.

Additional Information
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is committed to maintaining a safe, drug-free workplace. All DLA employees are required to refrain from illegal drug use on and off duty. DLA conducts pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and random drug testing.
Applicants tentatively selected for employment in testing designated positions will undergo a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Refusal to undergo testing or testing positive for illegal drugs will result in withdrawal of the tentative job offer and a six-month denial of employment with DLA from the date of the drug test. Employees in drug testing designated positions are subject to random drug testing. A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date). The selectee's inability successfully pass; or refusal to conduct the test may result in: 1) the tentative or FJO being withdrawn during the recruitment process; or 2) subsequently being removed from Federal service for failure to meet a condition of employment. You may be required to sign a "Drug Test Statement of Understanding" if you are selected for this position.
The DLA drug testing panel tests for the following substances: marijuana, cocaine, opiates, heroin, phencyclidine, amphetamines, methamphetamines, fentanyl, norfentanyl, methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA), and opioids.
ADVISORY: Use of cannabidiol (CBD) products may result in a positive drug test for marijuana. DLA employees are subject to Federal law and under Federal law, Marijuana is illegal.
