Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair shipboard electrical systems and equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Install, route, terminate, and test electrical cables, wiring, and associated components.
- Perform troubleshooting and fault isolation on AC and DC electrical systems.
- Inspect, repair, and replace motors, generators, transformers, switchboards, motor controllers, and power distribution equipment.
- Conduct electrical testing using multimeters, megohmmeters, continuity testers, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Install and maintain lighting systems, communication systems, alarm systems, and auxiliary shipboard equipment.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with Navy specifications and maintenance procedures.
- Ensure all work complies with NAVSEA standards, OSHA regulations, and company safety policies.
- Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions to supervisors and project management.
- Work effectively in confined spaces, elevated locations, and aboard vessels under construction, repair, or overhaul.
- Collaborate with other trades, supervisors, inspectors, and ship's force personnel to complete projects on schedule.
- Document completed work, inspections, testing results, and material usage as required.
- Support shipboard system testing, dock trials, and sea trials when required.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and orderly condition.
- May lead or mentor apprentices and helper-level electricians.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Journeyman experience in Naval ships.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and technical manuals.
- Must pass a basic Journeyman test.
- Ability to obtain Naval Base and shipyard access.
- Knowledge of Naval electrical systems.
- Ability to pass background screening and drug testing requirements.

Pay
The salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $54,400 MIN - $76,880 MAX. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, Vermont and Virginia is $54,400 MIN - $76,880 MAX. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
