About the role

Austin Industrial provides premier self-perform maintenance, construction, and soft craft service to leading industrial companies across the U.S. This Electrician Foreman position supervises and coordinates skilled and unskilled workers on various construction projects, including highway structures, underground utilities, concrete paving, and related work. The role focuses on scheduling work safely, adhering to plans and specifications, and meeting cost objectives while maintaining relationships with inspectors, developers, vendors, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and review contract documents, submittals, shop drawings, and schematics to determine work scope, materials, and manpower requirements.
  • Execute Work Plans for major components of work and monitor adherence.
  • Order self-perform materials, supplies, and small tools from approved suppliers; ensure timely requisition of materials and equipment.
  • Monitor daily labor costs and production rates for accuracy and conformance with budgets; take corrective action to improve productivity.
  • Encourage craftsmen to develop innovative methods for increasing efficiency, productivity, and profitability; provide feedback and coaching.
  • Execute hourly timecard reporting and maintain all equipment assigned to the crew, including preventive maintenance training.
  • Provide detailed daily and weekly construction plans; manage work to stay within schedule.
  • Schedule and manage QA/QC inspections to obtain owner acceptance of work.
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure it meets established tolerances; take corrective action when standards are not maintained.
  • Manage the crew into an effectively coordinated working unit, fostering a motivating atmosphere.
  • Promote training and development of subordinates through on-the-job and company-sponsored programs.
  • Recommend personnel actions, such as promotions, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
  • Supervise subcontractors to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Conduct Toolbox and JHA Safety Meetings to instruct employee-owners on accident prevention.
  • Enforce all safety regulations and company policies; maintain constant awareness of safety conditions.
  • Investigate alternative work methods and materials to improve efficiency and work quality.
  • Ensure compliance with plans and specifications; perform project closeout tasks, including punch lists and demobilization.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate daily reports of all field construction activities.
  • Interpret company policies to workers, including Equal Employment Opportunity Policy during Safety Meetings.
  • Conduct on-the-job training for qualified personnel and record hours on the Foreman’s Daily Control.
  • Complete Foreman's Daily Control with employee-owners' hours, job numbers, cost codes, and quantities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industrial and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Certifications/Licenses: TDLR, NCCER, and a valid Driver's License.
  • Legally authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; Austin Industrial is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa.

  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and meet all customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements.
  • Perform all job duties while maintaining a constant commitment to safety, quality, and productivity expectations.
