Electrician (Certified)

Job Responsibilities

• Carries out installation, repairs, troubleshooting, maintenance and upgrading of electrical components, wiring, and equipment as required to minimize downtime and maintain or improve efficiency.
• Locates and determines reasons for electrical failure.
• Completes Preventive Maintenance Programs (PMs) as assigned by Supervisor.
• Participates in the training of apprentices as assigned by Supervisor.
• Follows plant lockout procedure.
• Ensures all guards including panel doors are in place.
• Uses proper safety equipment on aerial work platforms or above 9 feet.
• Affords assistance to other maintenance trades as required.
• Utilizes Maintenance Reliability Manager Maintenance Program.
• Come to work each day as scheduled.
• Approach each day and each challenge with a positive attitude.
• Conduct themselves in a professional manner when receiving or giving feedback/information, whether it is positive or constructive.
• Supports and models the Presstran operational procedures/policies, Employee Handbook and “How We Work Together”, Magna Employee’s Charter, Magna Corporate Constitution.
• Follows and complies with all operational procedures/policies as stated in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environmental programs (e.g., ISO/IATF-16949, ISO14001).
• Adheres to all Health and Safety programs in accordance with the OHSA.
• Takes pride in keeping their work area clean and tidy.

Required Skills And Experience

• Current Industrial Electrician license 442a or 309a.
• Equivalent to completion of community college or specialized trade courses up to 2 academic years.
• Industrial experience considered an asset, especially the ability to function effectively in a team environment.
• Own tools required.
