About the role
US Chemical Storage designs and manufactures safe, compliant prefabricated chemical storage buildings customizable for applications in many industries. As an Electrician, you will contribute to the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting chemical storage buildings.
Responsibilities
- Accurately read and study blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of installations and/or repairs to ensure quality.
- Use hand tools required to perform the job, including but not limited to: hammers, drills, saws, screw guns, metal shears, utility knives, framing squares, and edging tools.
- Install, repair, and maintain motors, lights, circuits, wiring, and other electrical system equipment and components in compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Operate a variety of electrical testing equipment to locate and determine types of electrical malfunctions.
- Participate in cross-functional teams for Continuous Improvement.
- Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using a ruler and hand tools.
- Drill holes for wiring and pull or push wiring through openings.
- Complete inspections and conduct repairs as needed.
- Work on ladders or at heights of building structures using proper fall equipment.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of knowledge in electrical applications for high and low voltage electric systems.
- Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Experience with explosion-proof components is preferred.
- Ability to work in a flexible team environment with job rotation as needed.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of measurements using a tape measure.
Working Conditions
- Able to lift and carry 50 lbs to waist and overhead.
- Ability to use ladders at least 10 feet off the ground.
- Ability to bend, twist, squat, stand, and walk up to 10 hours per day.
- Wear all required PPE including: steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
- Good physical condition and endurance.
- Ability to work in high heat conditions.
