Role Summary
The Electrician supports the installation, service, and construction of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems, including supermarket and grocery store equipment. This role focuses on electrical infrastructure supporting refrigeration racks, cases, walk-ins, and associated market equipment. The Electrician works closely with refrigeration, construction, and project management teams to deliver safe, code-compliant electrical installations across new construction, remodel, and retrofit projects.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Install power supply wiring and conduit, including EMT, O-CAL, rigid conduit, MC cable, strut, and cable tray systems
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems supporting refrigeration and market equipment, including switchgear, motor controls, electrical panels, CT cabinets, conveyor systems, lighting, and power distribution
- Troubleshoot electrical components, including wiring diagrams, transformers, motors, panels, and circuits
- Measure, cut, bend, and install wire and conduit using appropriate hand and power tools
- Trace and diagnose short circuits and electrical faults using test meters
- Inspect electrical systems for loose connections, damaged insulation, or code violations and correct deficiencies as needed
- Construct electrical controllers and panels using drills, presses, taps, saws, and punches
- Maintain tools, vehicles, equipment, and jobsite organization
- Cook with project leadership and field teams to support productivity and scheduling
- Travel to job sites as required
Skills and Qualifications
- 4+ years of commercial or industrial electrical experience
- Meet Washington 01 electrical requirements
- Strong knowledge of local and national electrical codes with the ability to apply them in the field
- Experience installing and troubleshooting motors, controls, panels, and power distribution systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman license in Idaho and/or Montana
- Experience supporting refrigeration or supermarket equipment
- Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship or training program
- Prior experience working on grocery, supermarket, or industrial projects
