Key Responsibilities
- Assemble industrial control panels according to approved designs, customer specifications, and applicable electrical standards.
- Perform control panel wiring, machine wiring, and electrical troubleshooting with a strong focus on safety and quality.
- Read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and related technical documentation.
- Wire electrical systems in accordance with NEC requirements and approved project specifications.
- Troubleshoot wiring, circuits, and electrical components safely and effectively.
- Communicate progress, open issues, changes, and problems clearly with the project team throughout the build process.
- Document changes, concerns, and build-related updates to ensure proper communication and traceability.
- Assist with the successful execution of assigned programs as they relate to cost, quality, timing, and customer satisfaction.
- Support ISO and quality standards by following defined procedures and maintaining accurate work practices.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within the assigned work area.
- Carry out assigned tasks with minimal direct supervision while working effectively as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience building and wiring industrial control panels.
- State of Michigan Journeyman Electrician License and/or certification from a federal Maintenance Electrician program.
- Intermediate knowledge of schematic interpretation, panel building, machine wiring, and troubleshooting.
- Basic computer skills for documentation, communication, and work-related tasks.
- Proven mechanical aptitude with a consistent focus on safety, quality, and accuracy.
- Ability to follow direction, complete assigned tasks, and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to maintain a steady work pace while bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working around or beneath machinery.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics accurately.
- Strong attention to detail when wiring and assembling electrical systems.
- Experience wiring PLCs, VFDs, servo drives, disconnects, fuses, contactors, relays, and related industrial components.
- Experience with 480VAC power wiring and 24VDC control wiring.
- Related vocational education or technical training preferred.
- Four years of electrical experience preferred.
- Journeyman s card preferred.
