Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in buildings
- Read and interpret blueprints, circuit diagrams, and technical drawings
- Inspect electrical systems, components, and equipment to identify hazards, defects, or needed repairs
- Ensure compliance with local and national electrical codes
- Use hand and power tools to install and service electrical systems
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using testing equipment
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
- Follow safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Collaborate with contractors and other construction professionals on projects
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred
- A valid electrician license or certification (as required by local regulations)
- Proven experience as an electrician (typically 2+ years)
- A strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and safety procedures
- A proven ability to read technical documents and schematics
- Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Physical stamina and ability to work in a variety of environments
- A valid driver’s license (if travel to job sites is required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in [residential/commercial/industrial] electrical systems

- OSHA or other safety certifications
Working Conditions
