About the role

The U.S. Railroad Retirement Board is seeking an Electrician for New Jersey Transit Rail Operations Inc. The position is located in Port Jervis, NJ.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair railroad equipment and structures.
• Operate and maintain railroad signaling systems.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on railroad tracks and facilities.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• At least 5 years of experience as an electrician in a railroad environment.
• Knowledge of railroad signaling systems and track maintenance practices.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills

• Proficiency in electrical and electronic systems.
• Experience with rail-related equipment and safety protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
