Position Overview
Responsible for general electrical work required for installation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical equipment and systems necessary for construction, renovation, or maintenance in designated County buildings.
Job Duties
- Performs all duties required to install, estimate time and materials, maintain, or repair electrical equipment and systems in County buildings.
- Aids and trains less experienced co-workers and performs other duties as assigned.
- Will be required to be on-call after hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma, G.E.D. equivalency.
- Current State Journeyman Electrician's license is required.
- Experience: Five (5) years of hands-on experience in commercial or residential electrical work.
Knowledge, Skill & Abilities (KSAs)
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions thoroughly, neatly, and promptly, and be skilled in reading and building from blueprints.
- Understand and have thorough knowledge of electrical tools and codes, and display mechanical aptitude.
- Maintain a courteous, helpful behavior at all times.
- Self-starter possessing the interpersonal skills required to be a productive team player.
- Ability to receive CJIS clearance, pass a security check, and a drug test, as required.
Physical Demands And Environmental Exposure
- Most assignments will be performed in an office, meeting room, or operations command center environment, but some fieldwork may be required.
- May be required to work extended work hours during activation of disaster recovery operations for an unspecified length of time (varies based on the extent of the event).
- This position requires bending, stooping, and lifting up to 25 lbs., as well as frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, and ascending/descending stairs.
