About the role
The primary purpose of this position is to provide expedient and professional maintenance to the students who live in residence halls, apartments, and fraternity/sorority houses on the campus of NC State. The main functions of this position are to construct, install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures in the residence halls, apartments, and fraternity/sorority houses for DASA Facilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide expedient and professional maintenance to the students who live in residence halls, apartments, and fraternity/sorority houses on the campus of NC State.
- Construct, install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures in the residence halls, apartments, and fraternity/sorority houses for DASA Facilities.
- Incumbent must be in good physical condition in order to lift and set heavy equipment, climb ladders, pull heavy rolls of wire, and other similar tasks.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
- Considerable knowledge of the standard practices and methods of the electrical trade.
- Skill in the use and care of tools of the trade.
- Ability to locate and correct defects in electrical systems and equipment.
- Ability to read and work from blueprint s and sketches.
- Ability to train apprentices in the electrical trade.
