Responsibilities
- Install, alter, maintain and repair electrical wiring, apparatus and equipment for communication, lighting, heating, and power, while adhering to all City, State and Federal codes.
- Review plans, blueprints, and specifications for electrical projects.
- Recommend project changes and define detailed project tasks and scope.
- Estimate time, labor and materials costs.
- Use modern electrical test instruments to troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment and make needed repairs.
- Conduct preventative maintenance programs and procedures and recommend changes.
- Purchase parts and supplies according to state rules and regulations.
- Maintain records and drawings, which includes working with computer maintenance programs.
Requirements
- Current Minnesota Class A Journey Worker license.
- Valid Class D driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Experience in: Preventative maintenance of electrical distribution systems in commercial operations with multiple utility feeders and loop distribution systems up to 15,000 volts.
- New construction and remodeling.
- Nondestructive maintenance techniques (thermography, ultrasonic testing, vibration analysis, etc.).
- Repairing and maintaining frequency drives, soft starts, programmable controllers and similar equipment.
- Knowledge of SCADA controlled electrical systems.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications and contract terminology related to electrical installations.
