Electrician

About the role

The Electrician plays a crucial role in maintaining and improving the efficiency of mining operations through the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Cook up all in-house electrical repairs and upgrades
• Troubleshoot AC/DC motor controls and drives
• Research and develop process control instrumentation
• Work closely with engineering group to meet deadlines and complete capital projects
• Coordinate all in-house electrical repairs and upgrades
• Actively research potential upgrades in automation and fine-tune existing plant
• Improve safety, efficiencies, plant capacities, consistency, availability, and reporting

Requirements

• 2-year technical degree in Electrical or comparable experience
• Certified/licensed Electrician
• Journeyman’s card (preferred but not required)
• Experience with PLC’s (preferred but not required)
• At least 1 year of experience in the aggregate or similar industry
• Strong attention to detail, high sense of urgency, and safety acumen
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle

Qualifications

• Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, adjusting focus, and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
