Electrician

About the role

The Electrician plays a crucial role in maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting process control instrumentation to enhance the efficiency of surface mining operations. This position requires coordination of in-house electrical repairs and upgrades, as well as active research and development in automation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all in-house electrical repairs and upgrades
• Troubleshoot AC/DC motor controls and drives
• Actively research potential upgrades in automation and fine-tune existing plant processes
• Work closely with the engineering group to meet project deadlines and complete capital projects
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 2-year technical degree in Electrical or equivalent experience
• Certified or licensed Electrician
• Journeyman’s card preferred but not required
• Experience with PLCs preferred but not required
• At least 1 year of experience in the aggregate or similar industry
• Strong attention to detail and a high sense of urgency
• Safe working practices

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to operate a company vehicle
