Electrician
About the role
Installs, repairs, troubleshoots, and performs preventive maintenance on indoor lighting systems, electrical systems and apparatus, main power distribution systems and panel boards, outdoor facility lighting, construction projects, kitchen equipment, and HVAC systems. Responds to emergency power failures and emergency back-up systems. Monitors and tests various electrical systems. Ensures outstanding guest service by creating a friendly environment and following Jackson Rancheria Guest Service Guidelines.
Installs electrical distribution systems from primary to secondary, including wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as HVAC equipment, lighting panel boards, distribution panel boards, and lighting and HVAC controls. Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables. Tests malfunctioning machinery and collaborates with other trades workers, such as HVAC personnel, to diagnose malfunctions. Replaces faulty electrical components like relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices. Reads and interprets drawings, building plans, and electrical plans to guide layout and work. Determines appropriate materials and equipment needed for projects and assignments. Installs equipment and fixtures such as motors, generators, switches, circuit breakers, and fuse boxes.
Responsibilities

- Replace faulty electrical components (relays, switches, motors)
- Read and interpret electrical plans, drawings, and building layouts
- Determine materials and equipment needed for projects
- Install motors, generators, switches, circuit breakers, and fuse boxes
Requirements
- Minimum high school level education
- Previous work experience in the electrical field
- Current California Certified General Electrician Journeyman Card (must remain current for duration of employment)
- Able to obtain and maintain a Jackson Rancheria Gaming License
- California Class C driver license (must be vehicle insurable through Jackson Rancheria’s agent)
Pay
Pay range: $32.00 - $41.60 per hour
Non-exempt employees will receive a $1.00 per hour shift differential for any hours worked between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
Work Environment
This is not a smoke-free workplace. Although state-of-the-art air filtration systems are employed, cigarette smoke is present in the work environment.
