About the role
Skilled professional specializing in electrical systems and wiring, responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and upgrading electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
Responsibilities
- Install electrical components and systems such as electrical panels, outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, and wiring, following electrical codes and blueprints.
- Perform regular maintenance checks on electrical systems to identify and fix potential issues.
- Troubleshoot problems including electrical outages, faulty circuits, or malfunctioning equipment, and carry out repairs to restore functionality.
- Upgrade existing electrical systems to meet current standards or accommodate new equipment and appliances.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to prevent electrical hazards and ensure the well-being of occupants and property.
- Conduct tests and inspections on electrical systems to verify performance and compliance with industry standards using specialized tools and equipment.
- Interpret electrical blueprints and technical diagrams to plan and execute installations accurately.
- Ensure all installations and repairs comply with electrical codes and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with construction teams, project managers, and customers to understand project requirements and address concerns.
- Manage time effectively to prioritize tasks and complete projects within specified timelines, including responding to emergency repair calls.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues using analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Provide excellent customer service, explaining electrical issues to clients and addressing their concerns.
- Stay updated with the latest electrical technologies, tools, and safety practices through ongoing training and professional development.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned by leadership.
Requirements
- Master Electrician licensing in the state where work is performed.
- Previous experience as an Electrician in the construction industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Extended working hours which will vary depending on job and site requirements.
- May need to work weekends if business needs require.
- Regular attendance is required.
Physical & Cognitive Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Must be able to traverse in all weather conditions and work in extreme temperatures.
- Will sit in a chair on a computer, at times, for more than 8 hours/day.
- Must be able to stand and walk continuously through shift.
- Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), including a respirator, when required.
- May be exposed to dust, fumes, and odoriferous working conditions.
