About the role
Full-time position responsible for planning, installing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical systems and/or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures in both commercial and residential settings. Work environments include heights, trenches, confined spaces, uneven terrain, and general construction areas. Exposure to weather conditions depending on location and time of year.
Responsibilities
- Plan, install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems and electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs at various heights to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Demonstrate knowledge of conduit bending and installation, wire pulling, switches, relays, circuit breaker panels, switchboards, transformers, and motor control centers.
- Perform physically demanding tasks such as digging trenches and moving/lifting heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- Properly wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, boots, eye protection, and gloves.
- Operate and control two-handed tools/equipment including hand benders, cable cutters, compression tools, and other power tools.
- Stay on your feet continuously for a 10-hour day (excluding lunch).
- Distinguish all colors of a color spectrum chart.
- Read, understand, and interpret blueprints, drawings, floor plans, schedules, and manufacturers' operating/maintenance specifications related to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and special equipment.
- Apply strong knowledge of the current National Electrical Code (NEC) and interpret/follow its guidelines.
- Work independently in challenging environments while meeting demanding timelines.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems in compliance with the NEC.
- Maintain compliance with all OSHA and DOT requirements, as well as company policies.
- Immediately identify, correct, and/or report any unsafe acts, conditions, or incidents.
- Bend and install conduit.
- Install lighting and basic control systems.
- Perform wire and cable pulls.
- Install motor feeders and make standard motor connections.
- Clean and maintain job sites, tools, and vehicles.
- Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, circuit breaker panels, switchboards, transformers, and motor control centers.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on project drawings, specifications, and NEC.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including repetitive walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, pushing, pulling, squatting, climbing, kneeling, reaching overhead, and twisting.
- Stand for long periods without sitting.
- Repetitive motion of shoulders, arms, hands, wrists, and fingers.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving, time management, prioritization, planning, and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Self-driven with initiative.

Schedule
High Tide Oil Company operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Workdays typically involve 10-hour shifts (excluding lunch).
