Electrician
About the role
The Electrician provides technical skills in the construction, installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of electrical control equipment, computer systems, and related equipment. They are responsible for troubleshooting electrical malfunctions, restoring equipment to proper working order, correcting electrical safety issues, and installing, calibrating, and testing electrical equipment to ensure reliable and safe operation.
Responsibilities
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing mill electrical systems and equipment.
- Complying with safety guidelines, policies, and procedures of the company.
- Calibrating and testing electrical equipment to ensure reliable and safe operation.
- Installing, troubleshooting, and repairing lighting systems.
- Installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electric solenoid valves and pumps.
- Installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical sensors and mounts.
- Installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electric motors and switch gear.
- Working from a ladder as required.
- Maintaining a clear and orderly work space.
- Assisting other maintenance personnel as required.
- Assisting machine operators in determining cause of problems and malfunctions.
- Performing preventative maintenance and maintaining appropriate checklists.
Requirements
- Oregon General Journeyman Card Required with a minimum of a P.J. License.
- Manufacturing Plant Journeyman License preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of national electrical code standards and other associated regulatory guidelines.
- PLC/Controls Experience.
