Electrician
About the role
The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is seeking an Electrician to join their Field Operations Facilities team in West Chicago, IL. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a skilled, supportive team dedicated to high-quality work and the larger mission of the forest preserve. The position involves maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing various electrical equipment and serving as a lead tradesperson in a unique setting.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and replace various electrical equipment
- Serve as a lead tradesperson in a unique setting
- Work in a variety of different settings
- Travel throughout the district as needed
- Work Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with some evening and weekend work required
Requirements
- Skilled Trades & Technical Training; 4-6 years of related experience as a journeyman skill level Electrician; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Valid Electrical License covering National Electrical Code for residential, commercial and industrial installations recognized by DuPage County, or ability to obtain such license within 6 months of hire
- Valid Driver's License in good standing; Class C Driver's License required within (6) months in good standing
- Must pass a medical evaluation and fit test, per OSHA regulations, to ensure a respirator can be safely worn when required
- OSHA 10-hour 1926 training and confined spaces training within (6) months of employment
Qualifications
Skilled Trades & Technical Training; 4-6 years of related experience as a journeyman skill level Electrician; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Pay
$33.37 - $37.35 per hour
Schedule
Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with some evening and weekend work required.
