About the role
Responsible for testing electrical equipment using various meters, installing and repairing electrical wiring and systems, and performing maintenance tasks on Building Utility Systems.
Responsibilities
- Test equipment using voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter, and wattmeter for voltage, amperage, and resistance.
- Install electrical wiring, conduits, switches, and protective covering.
- Perform installation, modification, repair, monitoring, operation, and troubleshooting tasks on a variety of Building Utility Systems.
- Install, modify, repair, load, and test systems, circuits, and devices, including essential/critical load switchgear, generators, power distribution units, and panels.
- Operate, modify, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of electrical equipment/systems.
Requirements
Must obtain and maintain a government driver’s license. Appointment is subject to a favorable suitability or fitness determination and completion of a pre-employment physical.
Qualifications
Must demonstrate the ability to perform common tasks of the job under close supervision, interpret and apply building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings, and use hand tools and test equipment.
Skills
Requires skill in the use of hand tools and a wide variety of test equipment.

The incumbent of this position has been designated as an emergency employee. The term "Emergency Employee" is used to designate those employees who must report to work in emergency situations.
