Electrician
About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Electrician to join our Maintenance team. This critical role is responsible for the proactive and reactive maintenance of our advanced plastics manufacturing and high-speed film production machinery. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of industrial electrical systems and a proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues to ensure peak operational performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities
System Diagnostics and Repair: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform corrective and preventive maintenance on complex electrical, mechanical, and process control systems.
Operational Support: Provide expert-level technical support, including on-call availability, to minimize downtime and maintain continuous production flow.
Equipment Upgrades: Execute the assembly, disassembly, conversion, and installation of production lines and ancillary equipment. This includes proficiency with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
Facility and Utility Maintenance: Maintain and service electrical infrastructure, including switch gears, bus ducts, and distribution panels, to ensure reliable power for the entire facility.
Technical Documentation: Interpret and apply information from intricate electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and engineering blueprints to guide maintenance and repair activities.
Proactive Maintenance: Utilize and execute rigorous preventive maintenance schedules to sustain equipment reliability and extend asset lifespan.
Inventory Management: Utilize the Maintain X CMMS system to manage and procure essential parts and materials, ensuring proper inventory levels.
Safety and Compliance
This is a safety-sensitive position requiring an unwavering commitment to our stringent safety protocols. The successful candidate will be empowered to initiate a Stop Work Authority for any perceived unsafe conditions or behaviors and must be an active participant in our comprehensive EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) policy and initiatives. Must have a demonstrated history of following Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Arc Flash safety procedures.
Physical Demands
Sustained Physical Activity: Standing and walking for extended periods (up to 100% of the workday).
Complex Movements: Performing complex physical tasks such as climbing, kneeling, stooping, and reaching for up to 75% of the workday.
Lifting: Lifting and exerting force up to 60 pounds occasionally and up to 40 pounds frequently.
Dexterity: Using hands and arms to grasp, handle, and manipulate tools and equipment for a majority of the workday.
Required Qualifications
Education: A High School Diploma or GED is required. A Journeyman certification is highly preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of industrial electrical repair experience, with a focus on high-speed production equipment, drives, instrumentation, and process controls.
Technical Skills: Demonstrated expertise in both electrical and fundamental mechanical systems. o Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex system failures with minimal supervision. o Exceptional ability to interpret and work from technical blueprints, schematics, and drawings. o Experience with a range of production equipment, including extruders, conveyors, and packing systems. o Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems and equipment, including drives and motors. o Proficient in running and pulling various types of wiring and bending conduit with precision.
Safety Certifications: Proven experience with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. o Demonstrated knowledge of Arc Flash safety standards and procedures.
