Electrician

About the role

The Electrician will maintain, calibrate, perform trouble analysis, consult, research and develop process control instrumentation for the purpose of optimizing the efficiency of the mining operation.

Responsibilities

• Cook up all in-house electrical repairs and upgrades
• Troubleshoot AC/DC motor controls and drives
• Actively research potential upgrades in automation and fine-tune existing plant to improve safety, efficiencies, plant capacities, consistency, availability and reporting
• Work closely with engineering groups to meet deadlines and complete capital projects
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Have a 2-year technical degree in Electrical or have comparable work experience
• Worked on industrial sites or similar industries for at least 2 years or more
• Have experience with PLC’s (preferred but not required)
• Have strong attention to detail, a high sense of urgency as well as safety acumen
• Possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a company vehicle onsite
• Can pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
