Top 5 Responsibilities
- Undertake more complex wiring tasks, including working with control panels and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- Integrate electrical components with automation systems to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
- Interpret and work independently from electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Regular maintenance of electrical systems performed to prevent potential issues.
- Examine and test electrical installations to ensure that they comply with quality standards.
Additional Responsibilities / Duties
- Install, wire, and terminate electrical components in automation systems and control panels per schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Aid in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and control system issues on machinery and equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and panel layouts to ensure accurate installations.
- Assemble, test, and troubleshoot electrical control panels to meet design specifications and industry standards.
- Perform routine electrical maintenance tasks, including replacing faulty wiring, sensors, relays, and other control components.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production teams to support automation and panel-building projects.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including wiring diagrams and modification notes.
- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE requirements.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience
- 2+ years of experience in industrial electrical work, automation, or panel building.
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Vocational school or junior technical college training in related industry.
- A basic understanding of PLCs, motor controls, VFDs, and automation systems.
- Experience using electrical tools, meters, and test equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing noted tasks related to machinery building and repair work.
- The ability to operate a forklift.
- A high degree of attention and care required to prevent injury to others when responsible for flow of electrical power.
- Baseline robotic knowledge is a plus for the position.
- Willingness to travel on installs inside and outside the United States.
- Must furnish the basic hand tools of the trade.
