Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical and electronic equipment used throughout the manufacturing facility
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, controls, lighting systems, switchgear, transformers, busses, circuit breakers, relays, and electrical distribution systems
- Install, splice, terminate, test, and repair low- and medium-voltage electrical systems, feeders, and associated equipment
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, loop sheets, isometric drawings, and technical manuals
- Utilize diagnostic and testing equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, frequency meters, and other electronic testing devices
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical control systems and motor-related issues while maintaining accurate maintenance documentation
- Support hazardous waste management activities in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Maintenance, and fellow craft personnel to establish priorities and safely execute work
- Participate in cross-training activities, including Instrument Technician responsibilities as required
- Support plant uptime through overtime, call-out, or shift coverage as needed
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Electrical State License or equivalent certification
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial electrical experience in a petrochemical, chemical, refining, manufacturing, or similar industrial environment
- Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing industrial electrical systems and equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical controls, motors, and distribution systems
- Working knowledge of alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) electrical systems
- Experience working with low- and medium-voltage equipment, including switchgear, transformers, breakers, relays, and splicing
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and technical documentation
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance within a hazardous industrial environment
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions
Qualifications
- Associate of Science degree in Electrical Technology or a related field
- Experience with petrochemical or chemical processing facilities
- Knowledge of flare ignition systems, BMS systems, and advanced industrial control systems
- Experience maintaining mobile equipment electrical systems
- Instrumentation experience or willingness to cross-train into Instrument Technician responsibilities
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Experience working in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance
- Frequent walking, bending, stooping, climbing, crouching, twisting, reaching, and ladder work
- Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Work at elevated heights and around moving mechanical equipment
- Visual acuity, depth perception, color recognition, and hearing ability necessary to safely perform job duties
- Safety requirements for responding to plant alarms and emergency situations
- Willingness to work around chemical manufacturing processes and follow all safety requirements
