Electrical Tester-3rd Shift

About the role

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Electrical Tester-3rd Shift to join our team in South Milwaukee, WI! The hourly rate for this position is $29.60 + $2.50 shift differential per hour. The core hours are 10:30 pm - 6:30 am. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of test equipment to perform electrical, electronic, and mechanical tests on a variety of control equipment.
• Ensure equipment meets customer specifications and safety and quality requirements under supervision.
• Ensure a safe work environment for self and others and follow safety procedures.
• Continuously evolve in product and process knowledge through classroom work, assigned reading, and training from an Electrical Tester II or Engineer.
• Build positive relationships that support job objectives and a team environment.
• Interface heavily with customers on witness tests under the supervision and guidance of an Electrical Tester II.
• Record data and write reports, process paperwork timely, accurately, and with accountability.
• Follow procedures with accuracy, efficiency, and strict attention to details.
• Troubleshoot and repair various problems that could occur during the course of testing, including warranty and non-warranty problems.
• Identify and report quality issues through the correct channels as they arise.
• Perform electrical testing or service work on equipment ranging from 5VDC to 30KVAC three phase power.
• Assist Design and Application Engineers with special test projects.
• Perform other tasks as required.

Qualifications

• An associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field from an accredited institution.
• Previous experience with electrical concepts such as electricity, motors and controls, PLC programming, and the fundamentals of AC/DC.
• Experience with protective relays.
• Previous work experience troubleshooting electrical and/or mechanical problems.
• Previous experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.

• Ability to repetitively work at elevated heights, stand, climb, squat, bend, kneel with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.
