Electrical Test Engineer II

About the role
Lindsay Corporation is hiring a dynamic Electrical Test Engineer II who is customer-focused and passionate about making products safer, more reliable, and more durable. This position reports to the Senior Director of Product Integrity and involves electrical and electronics testing in both laboratory and field (outdoor/farm) environments.
This is a full-time, Lindsay, Nebraska-based position requiring 40 hours per week and includes all hourly employee benefits. Expected travel is 10-20% to various test sites, locally and nationally.
Responsibilities
- Lead the test program development for Electrical, Instrumentation, and Mechatronics product groups.
- Lead and/or execute test programs, analyze test results, and communicate findings to internal or external customers, including design, electrical, and test engineering teams, as well as management personnel.
- Design and set up controls for automated testing; configure data loggers and utilize high-accuracy data acquisition techniques (DEWESOFT or similar) for data collection and analysis.
- Perform field and lab testing on Lindsay products (both structural and electrical) and resolve issues with urgency, accountability, and commitment to timelines.
- Use and maintain test equipment, record and analyze results, and present findings to product and engineering teams.
- Assist technical teams with recommendations to resolve testing problems, roadblocks, or equipment malfunctions impacting test performance or validity.
- Support engineering teams with defining test requirements, preparing samples, and developing test fixtures.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis, implement corrective and preventative actions to ensure continual improvement and risk mitigation.
- Work efficiently with various stakeholders and teams to support Lindsay’s growth.
- Follow safety protocols, ISO processes, and write detailed test and findings reports.
Qualifications
- 2-year degree with 5+ years of design or test experience in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Ag-related products, or a 4-year degree in Mechanized Systems Management, Agriculture, Electrical Engineering, or Electromechanical Engineering/Technology with 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in MS Office.
- Previous knowledge and experience working on irrigation pivots is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and willingness to learn the National Electrical Code.
- Ability to communicate technical problems and solutions to train and outline issues.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. up a ladder.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel with a company-supplied vehicle.
