Electrical Technician
About the role
The Electrical Technician position is a mid-level role responsible for electrical projects, project management, and technical/electrical support and repairs in production areas and buildings.
Responsibilities
- Follow all Amcor safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Follow OSHA rules and regulations
- Maintain quality of product by inspecting bottles, boxes, and following customer pack patterns
- Communicate and cooperate with other employees positively and constructively
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines; wear protective clothing, long-sleeved shirt, jeans or slacks, hair net, latex gloves, and practice good hygiene
- Work overtime when needed
- Report violations and unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel
- Respond effectively in emergencies such as fire and accidents, directing activities of others
- Follow all Department Procedures and Directives
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as an Electrical Technician
- 3+ years of experience around maintenance mechanical
- 1+ years of experience participating in Continuous Improvement projects
- Able to multi-task
- Able to pass a background check and drug test
- Able to monitor quality of machine output
- Able to lift up to 35 pounds
- Able to work in a production environment, recognizing various sounds and alarms
- Able to follow all department procedures and directives
- Able to perform all duties safely and effectively
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective presentation methods and skills
- Resourceful and strategic thinking
Skills
Knowledge concerning all electrical principles, blueprints, AC and DC motor controls, VFDs, and troubleshooting all electrical problems down to component level to make necessary repairs.
