Position Summary
Timber Products' Particleboard mill in Medford, Oregon is seeking a Technical Supervisor to oversee the electrical department. This role supports the company in achieving production goals by managing maintenance activities, ensuring minimal downtime for equipment, and leading a team of maintenance personnel.
Major Tasks
- Supervise all equipment maintenance and repair activities for the Medford Particleboard plant.
- Makes frequent decisions regarding maintenance schedules, priority of equipment repairs, overtime, and staffing needs.
- Supervises and leads employees to ensure minimal equipment downtime for maintenance and repair.
- Assists in resolving technical equipment repair problems, and may perform maintenance tasks as needed.
- Responsible for completing projects on time and within budget.
- Orders parts, equipment and tools, and contracts with outside services as necessary.
- May assist in designing or modifying present equipment to meet production needs.
- Develops and maintains the preventative maintenance program for the designated operations.
- Implements the specific maintenance schedules for assigned mill equipment, and ensures that they are carried out.
- Assists with environmental affairs including meeting air and water quality standards, testing and meeting permit requirements.
- Works with assigned safety committees, assists with inspections and investigations, and follows up on hazard reporting.
- Affirms quality control standards to maximize company profitability and achieve customer satisfaction.
- Completes administrative paperwork and reporting related to production reports, scheduling, personnel actions, timekeeping and safety.
- Administers company policies and procedures.
Skill Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of electrical/maintenance supervisory experience, preferably in a wood products or other manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge and practical success supervising industrial mechanical/electrical maintenance crews.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, management and contractors.
- 2 Years formal, technical training in electrical/mechanical principles.
- Requires the ability to read blueprints.
- PLC and HMI expertise is essential.
- Licensed Electrician preferred.
- Must have computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and the ability to learn and use company specific software.
