About the role
The Electrical Supervisor position at Georgia-Pacific's Plywood Mill in Prosperity, SC, plays a crucial role in ensuring safety, reliability, and employee development within the manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical team to achieve zero incidents and injuries in a continuous manufacturing setting.
- Support production processes to enhance the manufacturing enterprise and deliver value to the business.
- Facilitate team development, skill-building, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
- Drive safety excellence by promoting ownership, hazard identification, and effective mitigation strategies.
- Maintain high standards of electrical craft work quality and provide guidance to improve efficiency.
- Assist with troubleshooting production and equipment issues, and be available for emergency breakdowns.
- Conduct safety training, coaching, and performance management for crew members.
- Perform data entry, report creation, and assist with outage planning and maintenance scheduling.
- Conduct routine field and audit walks to enhance engagement and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Create work and daily schedules, and oversee work order completion, end-of-day, and weekly activities.
- Participate in job planning and projects both locally and at the corporate level.
Requirements
- Three (3) or more years of electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or military environment.
- Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, drives, and CMMS systems, including programming capabilities.
- Experience with remote troubleshooting and understanding of electrical and control systems.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PC-based maintenance/production reporting systems.
- Experience using RCA or similar problem-solving tools.
- Ability to create, read, and interpret electrical drawings.
- Experience working in a manufacturing plant environment, including noisy, dusty, non-climate-controlled areas.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in a related technical field.
- Previous experience in a wood products manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience as an Electrical Supervisor.
- Experience with power distribution, Allen-Bradley PLC (Studio 5000), PowerFlex drives, HMIs, and Ignition and robotics (ABB).
- Networking abilities and IT experience, including familiarity with servers, switches, and clients (Process and business).
