Protecnium is an international firm specializing in engineering and technical services, currently seeking an Electrical Superintendent for a Heavy Civil Construction Project in Norfolk, Virginia. The project involves tunnel, highway, bridge, and structure work with an estimated duration of 12 months. When the project ends, we aim to place employees in other projects for continuity.

About the role

Oversee day-to-day electrical construction activities, including installation of power distribution systems, conduits, cable trays, cabling, lighting, grounding, and other electrical systems. Coordinate with mechanical, ventilation, fire/life safety, controls, and communication systems. Work closely with Project Managers, Electrical Engineers, other Superintendents, subcontractors, QA/QC, Safety, and Commissioning teams to manage interfaces between electrical scope and other disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Field supervision, coordination, and execution of electrical works on a Roads, Bridges, and Tunnel Expansion Project, with a focus on tunnel and associated infrastructure.
  • Coordinate electrical subcontractors, foremen, and field crews to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, electrical codes, project quality requirements, and the construction schedule.
  • Plan daily and weekly activities, coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment, monitor field progress and productivity, resolve construction issues, and support inspections, quality controls, field changes, testing, commissioning, and system turnover.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience as an Electrical Superintendent in tunnels, bridges, highways, or heavy civil construction projects.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 10-hour workdays (with a 1-hour lunch break).
