About the role

Join Prism Electric, one of the most successful open-shop electrical contractors in Texas and Oklahoma. Headquartered in Garland, Prism specializes in electrical construction across design-build projects, large-scale industrial, commercial, government, and institutional developments. As a Superintendent, you will supervise construction site operations, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to project timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise operations on construction sites and monitor the short-term schedule.
  • Review and support hiring needs, ensuring quality control and coordination with other trades.
  • Train, manage, and evaluate project team members.
  • Assist the Project Manager in preparing construction schedules and daily schedules for manpower utilization.
  • Maintain daily reports, time sheets, safety and accident reports.
  • Coordinate production and attend meetings with other trades and the general contractor to resolve conflicts.
  • Plan, organize, and direct production in accordance with the contracted scope of work.
  • Oversee quality assurance and quality control programs.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure timely material delivery for project construction.
  • Ensure all installations meet quality and electrical code standards (NEC, city codes, engineering drawings).
  • Recognize and communicate priority project problems to the Project Manager (e.g., employee issues, job costing).
  • Empower, train, and support the growth and development of all field employees.
  • Conduct employee counseling, including documenting and following up on corrective measures.
  • Ensure proper documentation is recorded before layoffs or terminations.
  • Conduct 90-day, annual, and end-of-project reviews for job performance.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Valid Journeyman’s or Master’s License in Texas or Oklahoma.
  • Prior knowledge or ability to learn the estimating process.
  • Strong safety orientation.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word; exposure to Accubid is a plus.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to travel to project locations as needed.
  • Physical ability to work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain) while wearing personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, respirator when required).
  • Able to work 8–10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, with overtime and night shifts as required.
  • Includes crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and reaching.
  • Ability to routinely lift heavy objects over 50 pounds and perform pushing/pulling tasks.
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers; physical work constitutes more than 70% of the job.
