Job Title: Electrical Superintendent Job Description The Electrical Superintendent oversees the planning, layout, and execution of complex industrial and data center electrical construction projects. This role leads field teams and subcontractors, coordinates closely with project management and other trades, and ensures that all electrical installations meet project specifications, local codes, quality standards, and schedule requirements. The Electrical Superintendent plays a key role in project execution planning, workforce and material coordination, and the integration of conduit and electrical layouts into BIM models. Responsibilities Participate with management in preparing comprehensive project execution plans, including detailed scheduling of construction activities, manpower needs, and construction equipment requirements.Plan the layout and installation of electrical raceways, wiring, PLC/RIO/LCP panels, and end devices in accordance with job specifications, local codes, and industry best practices.Use Navisworks Simulate or similar 3D modeling software to review models and provide layout content to BIM modelers to support accurate field installation.Collaborate with project managers and field crew leads to provide weekly updates on schedules, status, and upcoming work activities.Schedule and direct personnel and subcontractors performing electrical work, interpret specifications, and coordinate various phases of construction to prevent delays and conflicts.Coordinate production and attend meetings with other trades and the general contractor to identify and resolve conflicts while providing clear updates on installation progress.Assist field crew leads in creating weekly work plans that outline project activities for the current and following week, including assigned resources and required materials.Meet weekly with field crew leads to review and refine their weekly work plans, ensuring alignment with overall project goals and timelines.Review daily production reports submitted by field crew leads for accuracy, identify impacts or issues, and escalate matters that require management attention.Inspect work in progress to verify that workmanship meets quality specifications, adheres to project schedules, and complies with housekeeping standards.Work closely with the Quality Manager to ensure scopes of work are completed and ready for QA/QC inspections.Build and maintain strong working relationships with mechanical and electrical system owners, general contractor area superintendents, and representatives from other trades.Purchase wiring, parts, and materials to meet project needs and ensure timely delivery to support uninterrupted construction activities.Train electricians and helpers to ensure they understand and adhere to project requirements, installation standards, and schedule expectations.Utilize tools and systems to track workforce performance, including production metrics, checklists, punch lists, site inspections, and housekeeping compliance.Manage 2–4 foremen and a craft workforce of approximately 25 team members, providing leadership, guidance, and clear direction.Lead and oversee all aspects of planning and laying out conduits for industrial and data center construction projects, ensuring accuracy and constructability.Collaborate with BIM modelers to ensure conduit layout content is correctly integrated into the model for field crews to install. Essential Skills Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Electrical Superintendent managing 2–4 foremen and a craft headcount of approximately 25 personnel.Strong experience in planning and laying out conduits for industrial and data center electrical construction projects.Proficiency in Navisworks Simulate or similar 3D modeling tools for reviewing models and providing conduit layout content to BIM modelers.Experience using Bluebeam for conduit layouts and coordination with BIM workflows.Hands-on experience with electrical construction in industrial and semiconductor or data center environments.Ability to plan and oversee the installation of electrical raceways, wiring, PLC/RIO/LCP panels, and end devices in compliance with local codes and project specifications.Strong construction management skills, including scheduling, resource planning, and coordination of multiple trades.Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting electrical construction documents and specifications.Knowledge of OSHA 30 safety principles and practices applicable to electrical construction sites.Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and supervise electricians, helpers, and field crews.Strong communication skills for coordinating with project managers, foremen, general contractors, and other trades.Ability to review and analyze daily production reports and identify issues impacting project performance.Capability to perform detailed inspections of work in progress to ensure quality and adherence to standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in industrial automation, systems integration, and I&C (Instrumentation and Controls) construction environments.Experience in semiconductor facility or data center construction projects.Familiarity with working as part of a Main Automation Contractor delivering comprehensive automation and control solutions.Comfort working with BIM modelers and integrated project delivery approaches.Strong organizational skills for managing documentation, checklists, punch lists, and site inspection records.Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with owners, general contractors, and other trade partners.Commitment to high-quality workmanship, safety, and maintaining clean and orderly job sites. Work Environment The role operates within industrial and data center construction environments that may involve moderate noise levels and occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Depending on project needs, work may occur at heights or around airborne particles and electrical components. Physical activities commonly include standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, as well as frequent use of hands, arms, and clear voice communication. Some tasks may require lifting and moving up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements can include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus while working with drawings, digital models, and field installations.
