Electrical Substation Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an Electrical Substation Design Engineer to develop and support substation projects, ensuring technical excellence, compliance with standards, and successful execution.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical substations, including layout, equipment selection, and Protection & Control systems
• Develop and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
• Support project planning, scheduling, and execution to meet project goals
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to align requirements
• Ensure adherence to industry standards, codes, and safety regulations
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases
• Identify risks and assist in troubleshooting during project implementation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of experience in electrical substation design
• Strong knowledge of substation engineering, equipment, and Protection & Control systems
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, ETAP, PrimTECH, or PLS-CADD
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with utilities or EPC companies
• Exposure to medium and high-voltage substation projects
• Authorized to work in the United States; PE license preferred
