About the role
FMM is seeking a motivated professional to fill our Traveling Electrical Site Supervisor role to manage a commercial electrical project in New Mexico. This position includes housing, per diem, a company vehicle, and all standard company benefits. Upon completion of this project (2+ years), there is potential to manage a project in a different area.
Responsibilities
- Establish high-quality work practices that align with the mission of FMM
- Assist with the electrical work when needed
- Coordinate projects and maintain schedules to ensure crew members complete their work on time
- Produce and prepare sketches and layout drawings for projects
- Minimize errors and solve problems quickly
- Train new electricians or establish a team of crew members who facilitate training for new electricians
- Demonstrate complete understanding of electrical system installation in ground-up commercial projects
- Implement all aspects of a new construction commercial electrical build, including slab rough-in, wall layout, installation of equipment/gear, power and lighting distribution, feeder pulls, trim out, troubleshooting, code compliance, best standard electrical practices, cost control, and crew management
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent apprenticeship
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in electrical work
- Knowledge of safety rules and regulations, client and company policy
- Proficient in computer, text, and email skills
- Proficient in using power tools and electrical testing equipment
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Experience working with high voltage and low voltage systems
- Strong understanding of electrical principles and concepts
- Ability to build and install electrical systems in commercial and residential settings
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
- Ability to manage challenges and lead with confidence
- Proven leadership and organizational skills
- Exceptional communication skills
- Must adhere to safety protocol and work in a drug-free environment
- Heavy travel is required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening
- Ability to pass a motor vehicle report screening
- Regular exposure to high noise environments
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and working around construction machinery
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
