Responsibilities
- Provide electrical service and/or repair to customer units as needed.
- Coordinate with utility service providers (NES, MTEMC, CEMC, etc.) and local code officials to ensure proper guidelines are established.
- Complete all required documentation on services, collect, record, and deliver fees to designated office administration.
- Facilitate orders for all parts required for appointments and ensure preparedness for the day of service.
- Submit purchase orders to dispatch or other designated purchasing team administrators.
- Facilitate rescheduling of customer appointments if a call is not completed.
- Transport materials and tools to the job site and provide proper accounting of assigned tools.
- Keep truck clean, stocked, and accurately inventoried.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure appropriate job objectives are met effectively and completely.
- Inform a manager if the customer does not have electrical services before leaving the call.
- Communicate the benefits of Club Memberships.
- Manage operational metrics including average invoice total, callback ratios, and labor margins.
- Train, coach, and mentor technicians and apprentices.
- Investigate any reported safety issues.
- Support manager as a resource who can make decisions on behalf of the company for the technician team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- State Electrical License preferred.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of four years’ experience preferred in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and correcting diverse electrical service issues.
- Valid driver’s license and approved to drive by Company’s insurance carrier.
- Highly organized with good attention to detail and follow-through.
- Good analytical skills with the ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
- Excellent customer service skills with a desire to exceed customer expectations.
- Ability to function in a team environment.
- Proficient in using a computer tablet, smartphone, and reading a map or following GPS.
Physical Requirements
- Work in outdoor elements with extreme variation in temperatures and weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) at least 50% of the time.
- Climb ladders and steep stairs.
- Majority of time spent standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and reaching.
- Often work in tight spaces such as attics and/or crawlspaces.
- Able to lift 50 pounds with the ability to push, pull, carry, or maneuver heavier items.
- Occasionally work from heights up to 15 feet above ground.
- Able to carry a 24-foot extension ladder alone and/or a 40-foot extension ladder with a co-worker on most jobs.
- Good visual acuity.
Pay
$25 - $35 an hour
