About the role
AE2S is growing and seeks Electrical Senior Project Engineers to lead electrical engineering design and project delivery for water and wastewater infrastructure projects across multiple locations. This senior-level role is ideal for an experienced electrical engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, leading multidisciplinary teams, and delivering high-quality solutions for municipal and industrial clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level electrical engineering and project management leadership for complex water and wastewater projects
- Lead and support business development efforts, developing strategies to drive local and regional growth aligned with AE2S’s strategic goals
- Serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor, applying advanced electrical engineering expertise across project teams
- Design and oversee electrical systems and components, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
- Conduct research and feasibility evaluations for new electrical technologies and applications
- Lead large-scale electrical design projects, including project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and performance monitoring
- Provide quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) for electrical designs, drawings, and specifications
- Mentor, guide, and oversee the work of electrical engineers and technical staff to ensure successful project delivery
- Collaborate across disciplines and with external subconsultants to deliver integrated, high-quality solutions
- Manage client relationships, proposal development, and identification and pursuit of new project opportunities
- Coordinate and participate in internal and external meetings with clients, stakeholders, and project teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of electrical system design experience in the water/wastewater industry or related experience; experience with design-bid-build (required), and experience with design-build and/or construction management at risk (CMAR) project delivery (preferred)
- Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain
- Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles, compliance practices, regulations, and standards
- Adept in providing guidance and strategic leadership to mid-level, senior-level, and project team members
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles, standards, and regulations related to electrical power distribution, lighting, and special systems, and instrumentation and control systems (instruments, fiber optics, computers, radios, Ethernet networks and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA))
Qualifications
- Physical Ability: Walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain, stand or sit for prolonged periods, occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist, occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight, occasionally lift up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds, inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects, wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame-resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear, occasionally work evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload, occasionally travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town
